The Wake

that balmy sky did everything it could to try and draw our attention clouds were discarded, rain postponed we were busy with our final goodbyes fine spirits melded with the past revealing a serious lapse in character the exhaust from a jet plane parted the heavens sending thoughts and eyes skyward personal conflicts nearly eclipsed the sparkle of this one particular star a celestial headstone that on this night shined brighter than the rest

Yeah, I can see what you did here...I loss both my parents in a matter of four years. Wonderful words to describe saying goodbye to a loved one...also very sorry for your loss as well....Take care. MC

Andrea sometimes my poetry is simply a picture that gets torn apart and then glued back together. Elmer's Glue-All of course. Thanks for the input...............peace!

I like this piece because it depicts life in reality but uses beautiful terms. There is beauty in everything even goodbyes. Thank you.
