The View
ever looked up at the mountain
deflated. there’s so far to go
trace the path before you
but there’s only so far that it shows
ever had legs that wobble
too weak to go on. disdain
ever wanted to just stop
take shelter from the rain
ever wished it could be over
all the climbing straight uphill
wishing you could just rest
sick of exploiting your will
when you get there take heart
(‘cuz i promise you it’s coming)
stop. turn around. look down
the view you’ll see is stunning
