The Video Game

Suppose we live in a video game world where Somewhere, in another dimension, a teenager Is manipulating us with a sophisticated control. Consider, it is he who’s in charge of our existence, Allowing us to move about at his will; and perhaps, If he gets bored with us, he may easily zap us into Oblivion by turning off the unit or go take a nap.

Mind blowing.... some day a force or human being will press one button too much,it could be mentally, physically, or spiritually. We live in very troubled times.

It certainly seems more inevitable to me. Thanks for your thoughts.

...or perhaps this is just some space aliens ant farm and he's about to see if we can swim....A very interesting proposition Milt, I did catch the subtle celestial metaphor

I'm not sure. It was meant to be a metaphor that is rather difficult to express in terms that don't upset the religious. A questioning way of asking if God is playing with us. Who knows??? This is one of the more thought-provoking pieces I written in a long time.

A frightening thought Milton, let's hope he doesn't get bored playing. Tom

Funny you say that, I had a thought of God with his hand on the button.

More interesting to me than frightening, Tom, because if that were (unbelievably) the case, there would be little we could do to gain control. Oh, I suppose we could try to appease him some way or another....who knows? Uh, this is a metaphor, Tom, for the way many people think of God, but I'm sure you realized that.
