The Verdict

“Guilty as charged!” came the jurors’ report, Reflecting that justice was served. The law of the land says to follow the court, So the verdict was what was deserved. The defendant, of course, didn’t seem to agree But instead of accepting the news, He disparaged the judge and the system so we Might accept all his nasty, warped views. When our country was founded, civility ruled And the leaders worked hard on the laws. What I hope is that voters won’t somehow be fooled By a felon with nothing but flaws.

America loves felons: Bonnie and Clyde, Billy the Kid, Thomas J. Dunne (Richard J. Daley's right hand man -- who got 82% of the vote for Cook County Commissioner when he doing time!), and many more come to mind... Question: If the verdict is overturned, will DJT lose his appeal? (Think about that question a minute. Double-take time). ~ 'Entertainment tonight,' gw

You forgot Netanyahu, the criminal who received more money from the USA than another criminal ( for genocide )

Well written. How easily he blames others for his own flaws.

Your poem shows that America is a land where people can disagree. Good for you for writing what you believe. I did the same on my site. Interesting poem.

Ilene, bravo! I will never understand how anyone can support that guy. God help us if he is reelected...which he might very well be.

Ilene, you summed it up perfectly! How bitter they are when the verdict doesn't...
