The Vase
For some time I didn't see it
Didn't want to believe it
The vase stands empty in the hall
The lions roaring
Eagles soaring
Sitting in the corner all alone
Looking so majestic
I look at it
Somewhat sadistic
Emptiness spills out into the room
Can I bring myself to break it
Or should I just sit back and take it
Leave it there to remind me everyday
Is that a crack I see there growing
Sorry if my feelings are showing
Crazy glue won't help in any way
Where is your umbrella now
Doesn't matter
But it does somehow
Forgive me if I throw the vase downstairs
I'll go buy another vase
Put it there in this one's place
Or maybe I'll just leave the corner bare
