The Unwanted Friend

First day, it came As if exchanging pleasantries, I tend to despise But it offered more Highish juice That made it surpassed My own very state of choice. Second day, i needed some More? some how? No! i wanted to be alone, But it came sneaking through Like a burglar Making me lost my pure-sober Even when i attempted to ponder It pulled me into sweet blonder To the detriment of my health. Eventually, it started making me bold, But in the actual, i was shy, for when in it, i failed to confront The noble. I wasn't just able, not understandable. Before i knew it, It was becoming my master.... No! no!! this blind courtship won't linger This matter must wither My dreams must not scatter or Shatter, so i struggled and became a winner. ==================================== The cry of a drug addict.

Addiction takes over so many lives, leading to death. I'm glad you won't be victimized by this unwelcome "friend," Charles. Excellent poem with a social statement that I wish more young people could understand. Love, "Mum"

This poem talks about how an addict would struggle to overcome the downward spiral of his or her addiction. So many get caught in this grasp. I worked in a smoke shop where we sold pipes, hookas, scales, and other drug things. It killed me to watch these young people come into the store and they were high on drugs. I eventually had to quit that job as I did not want to sell any of that stuff anymore. . An excellent write Charly. God Bless Phyl
