The Unicorn

Prophets spoke of a dove-white one who'd come but stay unseen Whose alicorn and equine form could by no man be tamed So very few dared hope her be more than only legend I among the faithless too, 'til happed upon her presence Behold! This perfect being! Resplendent in her beauty Her fierce green eyes and noble mane: I was captivated Awestruck, undone, of impure flesh: unable to pursue This holy one, now with my heart, slipped silently away So now I long, both night and day, to gain a second glance By prayer and faith, some soon day, to meet her once again To gaze upon her graceful form, and breathe her majesty And see anew, in light of morn, what's only in my dreams But dreams for now must be enough, through stormy nights ahead Till winds calm and tears have dried, and I hold her near again
