The Uk Eu Referendum Campaign

If you feel sick
At what you have seen 
From politicians 
During the UK 2016 
EU referendum campaign 

Imagine how it would be 
If we had none of them 
For 589 days 
Say we’ll give them that long 

To mend their ways 
To think of us instead of themselves
And their tax avoiding business friends 
Who live only for power and wealth  

But you may say
No Government for 589 days!!
it’ll be anarchy!!
Everything will fall!!

They’ll be chaos on the streets!!
No I don’t want that at all!!
I’d rather participate in a system
That doesn’t serve us all

I would ask you 
To think of a place 
Not too far away
Which managed quite ok
Even though no one was running the place 

People still went to work 
No danger to the public purse 
Streets were still cleaned 
Nothing was actually any worse

Belgium is its name 
And the people spoke 
Irrespective of political views  
Their message was clear 
You Politicians are a joke!

And ask yourself 
Why it was 
That even though Belgium is so near 
Why we didn’t hear
What was happening there? 

So if you are distressed
At what you have seen  
From what is supposed 
To be our country’s best

Let’s consider launching our own 
Project Fear
Aimed at those politicians who don’t 
Take on board our words which 
Pass through their ears 

Let them live in fear 
For their Jobs
Their friends 
And their excessive 
Expenses pay days

And let us be without a government 
For 589 days....
