The Twists and Turns of Life

Being adopted at 6 weeks I was gone
to live in countryside brought much joy
there I was free to fill me with fresh air
pre-school was great just as a little boy

But school came to hate each day
so glad to reach 15 to get away
suffered stammer so stopped me on track
socially unable, so shy and reserve I did stay

Got wed at 28 sadly Jean passed away
then came to believe God to receive salvation
this changed me coming spiritually alive
Jesus my friend and saviour so full revelation

At 37 remarried to Christine so in love
now been wed 30 years simply amazing
in these years in myself got stronger
increase in faith for God be praising

In all the twist and turns of life
looking back God's been so true
providentially taking me on His route
I know I trust Jesus loving Him I do

Hi Gordon, yes life is a roller coaster! The best thing in my life is my Husband - we have been wed for 20 years now and were known to each other throughout our lives. In our early twenties he was my boyfriend. But life had in store other plans. Both got married, both got divorced, both had a beautiful son, Ricky is my life as is CJ, Elias's - we love them both the same! Two bad scenarios - I lost my first child, a 2nd horrible thing - we were hijacked at gunpoint. Wonderful write, God has been there for you throughout! Blessings Gordon, Jenn.

Wonderful Gordon. Your testimony shows how you came to know and trust Him. He knows each one of us by name and He reaches out to us individually to give us the chance to accept Him. Great Stuff. God Bless, JB

Gordon, you have certainly met the challenges life has brought you. I was shy too and lost my husband at an early age. It can be hard for a quiet child to fit in at school. It's wonderful that you and Christine have been together for 30 years! Faith really helps us overcome the odds. A very interesting and well composed poem. Best wishes, Carolyn
