The Treacherous Heart

O Dearest One, Please Forgive
These hands ...
Once traced your most innermost person
These vile hands!
Have exploited you, tearing to pieces that trusting heart.

O Beloved One, Please Forgive
These eyes ...
Which discovered each buried desire
These wicked eyes!
Now blind to you, outstretching for help.

O Darling One, Please Forgive
These ears ...
In which you entrusted such vulnerable secrets
These hateful ears!
Now deaf to your anguished cries.

O Precious One, Please Forgive
This heart ...
Upon which you rested your own weary heart
This evil, treacherous heart!
Now poisoned by these sins against you.

O, My Only Love, Forgive Me!
For I have wronged you in the worst way.
