Notes About The Poem

The Tranquil Lake

Time passed by slowly; the breeze felt low.
Only one star twinkled, its lonely foe.
The yellow sunny light lit up the sky,
And a light breeze chased the clouds goodbye.

How calm was the large lake.
Even the waves did not quake.
Swallows flew above, chirping bright
Some flying left, some turning right.

Loons flew hither and thither, all around
Some would dive for fish with hardly a sound.
While white swans glided peacefully.
Incredibly, they easily evaded each other.

How I wish the scene had a long duration.
Such a scene filled me with great elation.

This is beautifully composed, the imagery is visually delicious, and I couldn't help wising I could wiggle my nose and join you in the serenity, nature and peacefulness you painted. I found you on my 'God' poem and while it warmed me when you called me sweetheart, you didn't say HOW you are or what doctors have said. You have the prayers of many here, all holding you in our minds and hearts. I hope to 'see' you again soon, Victor. CayCay

Lovely write, Victor; just the way Divine Light is so vibrant, that natural sunlight seems as midnight by comparison, by similar spiritual measure, beyond the range of cluttered ears is the Silence you speak of, an ongoing concert of brilliantly tuned heavenly voices.

I can imagine the beauty of those large birds which I have not seen in real life, Victor. I enjoyed reading this one this morning and a line in there reminded me of the beautiful sunrise shining out between some clouds. Thank you for sharing this one with us. Way to go. 👏👏 Sara K.
