The Time My Life Changed Forever
Life was moving along very ordinary
then in the early 80s quite content
in 1981 I got engaged to my girl
Jean said yes when proposed by this gent
When planning for wedding in November
my mother fell in garden, had heart attack
rushed to hospital but next day had died
so shocked this caught me off track
Our wedding went ahead as planned
it was a crisp sunny day in November
so happy sharing with family and friends
indeed a day we would love to remember
Jean had suffered from lupus for a while
it left her but returned after we wed
then in October '82, it took her life
in the hospital that night my heart bled
When returning home I felt at peace
as I prayed God felt so very near
in that moment I gave myself to Jesus
to forgive and save me He was so dear
From that moment my life changed
Jesus my saviour led me all my way
now looking back with grateful thanks
for God is real always each and every day
(I have written this about the special years that changed your life. )
