The Thirsty Can Come and Drink - John 7: 37-39
Here is Jesus on the great feast day
the finale as He speaks to the crowd
there were those of all types and persuasions
thinking of themselves great and proud
Jesus stands up and cries out
if anyone thirsts come to me
for spiritually we all are thirsting
not recognizing that we need to see
Then the Lord shows drawing power
'let him come to me' Jesus declares
God's grace comes to draw you in
so you also learn to tell and share
God invites everyone to drink
of this living water so free
the only water that can satisfy
receiving this absolutely no fee
Jesus says rivers of living water
flows out from deep in your heart
as the scripture has truly declared
when you believe fully in no small part
(" On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.)
