The Third Christmas

"The Third Christmas"
IF I had thought about where to begin, I wouldn’t have begun. This is the story of us. A family goes through the war zone occasionally, intermittently, say every ten years or so or possibly a minor tiff each year over a Christmas re-gifting or a prodigal unwanted sits silently, mouth closed, crowding the wanted or an over zealous family member, commencing with good cheer, destroys a precious moment, thanks giving becomes an alcohol fuelled debate an argument for living all forget the forgiving silent night becomes kristallnacht pathologically fear replaces good cheer Some families are an entire War. Politically sewn and sold, egos bruised. Years can be swallowed up in strategic artillery campaigns Who comes Who goes Quiet assassinations Back seat driving on the right way Home The Third Christmas How to avoid being again. Just so you know you are not alone Decorate the Heart with Snow (LadyLabyrinth/2019)

I should have titled this one the 5th Christmas, but I like the number 3.

It's enough to make a person want to find a pair of those shoes with diamonds underneath them and travel to a distant country to find peace and harmony, but sometimes you just have to weather through the Kristallnacht that is Christmas ... sometimes. Somewhere there's light at the end of the season.

This made sense in so many directions for probably every reader on this site! It certainly appealed to me!

Thank you Mme Krutsinger. I thought I'd get in early this year, as I was totally off the grid last Christmas. It's not a normal poem of eggnog, misteltoe and good cheer, but I think it drives the message home for a lot of people who are off the grid come Christmas/New Years. People have lost the true story of Christmas; many people are isolated, very lonely, off the grid and hidden or in hiding, this time of year. The most important thing at Christmas is kindness and to be aware of others. Some are in unsafe situations, homeless and in war zones of the military type as well as in the home. An early Merry Christmas full of joy to you and yours. L x

Thank you Dearheart. Surely people want parcels of honesty, love, peace and safety, including a safe home, or safe roof above their heads at Christmas. Some are not with family, nor friends, and may be isolated; they need to know they are not alone. I hope you have a lovely Christmas with your family and friends. x
