This is awesome! Unique way of expressing what is stolen with autism. My cousin has autism and he can't speak, but he typed on the computer, "No one understands me."

Thank you so much Julia! Autism truly is a thief of the worst kind! On the one hand being able to communicate via computer is a miracle (our grandson can also use the communicate as he can't speak) it is heartbreaking to know of their pain! So grateful that you shared your cousin's story! Sending both of you prayers and blessings.

Congrats! Thanks for sharing this... expressing very well the "realities" exposing autism's impact... Indeed, we need warriors, armed with prayers and patience, along with the Lord's love. God bless you.

Hi Beata! Thank you. Your lovely poetry about your special son encouraged me to write about autism. We both know and believe that prayer is a special tool. I thank my God that you are one of God's prayer warriors! Blessings to you!

OK! OK! You can keep the trophy! You did write an excellent write. Made my head nod in agreement, with a smile, as I just struggled to unwind a new roll! :s. On a more serious note, thank you Terry. I am grateful to have a plateform to express my feelings on the subject of autism! All the best!

Congratulations, Sam! This is so true, I feel so bad with autistic children and I'm glad that insurance laws changed to cover Autistic treatments. I appreciate the parents and the ones educating them for their patience. However, there are parents who want 24 hours care for their autistic children and this is very sad because they do not want to be involved. I dealt with this Autistic cases, parents who don't want to put time to help their autistic children.

Thank you so much Seeker! You have described it perfectly - "dreadful condition" robbing its victims - especially those low on the specturm. Thank you for sharing in my rant. My prayer is that we find the key to let these wonderful, precious people out of their prisons! Blessings to you!

This is an amazing poem, Sam. Good choice of theme for this subject. "Like a home invasion." "Doesn't play fair with innocence." These are very good expressions for the condition that so much robs a family of joy. Well done, Sam.

Thank you so much for your words of support Carol Louise! They touch my heart and steep with consolation in my spirit! Autism is a horror - a joy robbing thief. But, in all of this pain I have to admit we have seen little miracles of progress in our grandchild. We hold onto these moments like a lifeline. Thank you for wallking with me and listening to my tantrum! Blessings to you!

It has increased exponentially with the increasing number of vaccinations they keep giving kids. We used to get maybe 8 to 10 vaccinations in our whole childhood and now they are up to 72!! A few of my family have autism in their own kids now. it's all so tragic. Good writing.

Thank you so much Rama! Your words mean the world to me. I do believe there are "warriors" fighting this condition - the people with autism, the professionals who make miracles, the families and those who, in faith, pray for a solution. Thank you for being one of them! Blessings to you! :D

My daughter was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome very late in life - almost too late to give her the much-needed help she needed growing up. She was misdiagnosed with ADD during her first school years, and this label stuck. I had a job on my hands to resist drugging her with prescribed medications. Love your poem as you are spot on with each and every point of the situation.

Your daughter is indeed blessed to have a wonderful advocate who never quit! This contest was a unique opportunity to express my feelings and to bring together many others who daily fight this horrible condition. Thank you for your message and for sharing your journey. I hope and pray you and your family are doing well!

This is a passionate write about this horrible phenomenon that has burst into the lives of so many innocent precious children, so difficult and heartbreaking. It comes in many forms. Asperger's is on the spectrum, and people just do not understand the 'different' behavior individuals with 'hidden conditions' have. Thank you for writing this, and asking for prayer, it is needed for the so many trapped by it, and the families whose lives are wrapped around these precious kids as well.

BJ, your precious words of support and understanding deeply touch my heart. THANK YOU! It is a heartbreaking condition that robs children and adults of the fullness of life and the joy of expressing their gifts to the world. These people are precious! There are so many wonderful professionals who do work miracles - we have experienced those miracles with one of your grandchildren. It is an honor to gather a community to pray for a solution to this multi-facted bandit! Thank you for your prayers! Blessings to you my friend!

Thank you so much Jan! Can you tell how far behind I am in answering messages? :( Our oldest grandchild is a child with autism. I get so angry that this beautiful child has been striken with with condition! The theme was a great way to let off some steam but also to connect with so many who have a child with autism. And to say thank you to the professionals like you who make miracles for them. Much gratitude coming your way. Many hugs.
