The Thief Autism
The Thief Autism
Thief!
Childhood stolen by cowardly thief ~
Hiding in the shadows – masked face!
Bandit!
Holding hostage gifts and talents ~
Creation’s praise left penniless!
Feckless burglar!
Looting joy! Friendship hijacked ~
Words embezzled in mute babbles!
Surly swine!
Poaching laughter! Filching precious moments ~
Like a home invasion!
Kidnapper!
Of expression’s delight or the touch of love ~
Imprisoning the uniquely crafted thought!
Pickpocket!
Purloined priceless life cheated of hope ~
Criminal with no wanted poster
Mugger!
Strips bones - a prisoner’s frantic search for keys ~
To open sunrise - yearning to rush into the arms of life
Autism!
Doesn’t play fair with innocence ~
Small victories celebrated like battles won!
Warriors!
Embrace the precious souls locked within themselves
Armed with prayers and patience.
Dedicated to all who suffer with autism, all who love and work with these precious ones and all who work to change their lives with hope!
