Does the wonder of poiitics and the contest of how low can they go, ever reach bottom?
The Texas Debate
By Franklin Price
2/26/2016
The Texas debate was all bluster and wonder
The lightning did flash
And the place filled with thunder
Twisters of words tried to uproot the trees
In an effort to knock the nuts to their knees
All rather foolish and comments not fair
The temperature rose
From mouths pumping hot air
The three in the middle put each other down
Each trying to chase the two others from town
Out on the flanks the two that were there
Were gnashing their teeth
And pulling their hair
They, after all, were not the top of the picks
All an example of today's politics
As the bell rang when the time was at end
Lips kept on flapping
To not have to defend
Like alley cats they unsheathed their claws
The more stupid it got, the more the applause
A reality show but not much a debate
Their agendas unclear
As they rush to that date
When the voters must choose our next president
I'm praying to heaven that to hell we're not sent
