The teacher sets the tone in his classroom for the day Be pleasant and be friendly, students want to stay Walk in scowling with a frown upon your face Good luck, teacher ~ as students turn away

In my days at school we used to get the cane if we upset the teacher, now days the teachers get into trouble for shouting at a pupil.

Every day is the 'Caine Mutiny' in school today, or so it seems...

It couldn't have been easy for you to be a teacher, Gershon. I remember both positives and negatives my teachers went through in my K-12 years in school. Happy Chanukah, good friend!

Yo know, teaching was a heckuva lot easier than commission sales, farming in Middle-East heat, and many other jobs I had. That's how I felt anyway... Merry Christmas to you, Regina!

You should always try and put a smile on your face, and leave your worries at home, not easy I know. Tom

That's right, Tom. And sometimes, teaching was a 'break' from the chaos on the home front. Heh-heh, gw

So true Gershon. One of the hardest jobs to do. Deal with ignorant parents at Parent teacher meetings and then have to deal with some of their brats. You can't win my friend. lol..

Such a wonderful teacher you are to care for your students I guess I commented on the worst part of teaching but then to be fair their are great kids, students that make your teaching and interaction with them rewarding, and you meet great parents that are very supportive of what you have taught their children, and helped them get through a class because you cared as a Teacher. Knowing you Gershon I have no doubt you were one of their favorite teachers. I had one teacher that made a difference in my life and I will never forget him. He took a child that didn't really care of his classes because I was always daydreaming and trying to figure what I thought were more important things, transformed me into an A student and made me realize I needed an attitude change. I am forever grateful for him. I am sure you have made a difference in your students like. They will always remember you for that. God bless you my friend...

I don't know, Michael. Most of the 'brats' just wanted class to be interesting and meaningful. Not too much to ask of a (real) teacher, methinks. Merry X-mas to you. :) gw

Right you are, Akham. The all-important tone is set by the teacher, 99 times out of 100. Many thanks, Gershon
