The Sword Speaks
Whatever your indifference,
Put away your swords,
Revenge has never been sweet,
Don’t dress it up,
Or justify it,
Life is so precious,
Everybody has a right to live,
We are the civilized,
The educated,
With understanding,
A people who fought for peace,
And equal rights,
From enslavement and bondage,
Our forefathers lost their lives,
In the name of freedom,
Their blood cries out,
Don’t let it be in vain,
Learn to love one another,
Putting down weapons,
Violence no longer belongs,
In our new world,
Only love and forgiveness,
Where the lion,
Lays down with the lamb,
And free people,
Are brothers.
