The Sweetest Gift
The sweetest gift I ever got
was nothing fancy or store-bought.
It had no wrapping and no bow,
but what it left me was a glow
which all my young life I had sought.
It came to me when I was not
expecting it. A young man taught
me feelings young girls yearn to know -
the sweetest gift.
With blissfulness my heart was fraught,
for in a dream I had been caught
as with a smooth and tender flow,
the bearer of my gift gave slow
soft kisses on the night he brought
the sweetest gift.
(The sweetest gift is simply romance!)
