The Sunken Cathedral - Repost

THE SUNKEN CATHEDRAL – after Claude Debussy

A tomb
So chill, so deathly still
Where algaed bells hang dumb

Diffus’d
Her warted, weaving spire
In eerie midnight sun

A womb
Come, bubble, bubble down
In gloom, the vaulted way

To see
Through brackish ripple glass
By jaded light of day

Profound
Black iron gargoyle’s heads
Resounding, deathless, ringing

To hear
The swaying, sunken choir
Of chancel ghosts go singing

“TE DEUM
(eumm) – LAUDAMUS
TE DEUM – (eumm – eumm)

TE DEUM
(eumm) – LAUDAMUS
TE DEUM – (eumm – eumm)

Creates a very eerie picture for the season, DAver. Love that mood setting final part with the choir. I saw this in my box that you posted at PFT but I bet you won't get my response. Do you remember we used to email each other and then you stopped emailing me? I think you inadvertently did something on your end. But I am glad you posted this here so I could read it and you could get my response here at least. Try emailing me and I'll respond and you see if you get my response back.

Sounds like a Latin dirge Daver. The images are vivid and chilling. Satisfys my need for the ghostly things I need now and then.

Praise Him, Praise Him! This is a most amazing piece, Daver! Love it! Is this a collab? I can't wait to read this Bullet Tree poem of yours! I seem to be missing some of the best work on the soup...it's listed right here under your name!!! Bless you. Gwendolen
