The Sun of a Woman

As a woman's sun sets quick, —the clock, it does tick tick, The window begins short after your twenties Be wise, a partner you must find before your time runs dry; But know this, beauty fades not with love, —it's not age that matters a lot. With the race for riches and fame, —till your age reaches thirty five, Alas, your choices narrow, —settling for less, you must follow, The street becomes your source; A mate to make you a source of a child —but not a spouse, Your twenties, a time of prime, —not a moment to waste, to climb, For luck a lady finds in this stage. Beware of men's ways, As you pass beyond your twenties Their affections, they may contrive, For their gain, not love, you will see, —a façade, a ruse, to use thee. To seek a man with wealth and looks, Yet ignore his heart and his deeds, A folly it is, for you to take, —for a life, with him, of pain will make. The value of a man, it is in his heart, Not his wealth, nor his beauty, a part, —that shows the world a mask of gold; Yet makes your home an icy cold. A man who values you, build your life, Together, through strife, through strife. To wait for God's choice, a path divine; Yet life is not a moment to recline, For time it does not wait, but pass, —and thirty-five, it comes fast, alas. To choose and seek, a life of choice, Not wait for fate to have a voice, For life is an opportunity, —to make your future, your destiny.
