The Stream

I came upon a small and narrow stream where there was a continuous flow. Its liquid sounds were fresh and light and played music in my ears. Its current ran from high to low gaining speed as it traveled on. Over rocks, and valleys I saw it move as it picked up speed along the way. Gravity being the stream’s master, pushed it farther and farther still. By the time it reached its destination, it was gushing a symphony of music. The music went from light and free to sounding astounding and abounding till all around could here it’s song surrounding us loud and clear. This runoff flowed with such grace It made my heart race and pound Ever greater with each movement Till my heart was full and fluid too. April 9, 2019 Intensity Poetry Contest Sponsor-Julia Ward

There is something so captivating about watching moving water. I wonder why that is? Great poem. Wonderful imagery. Have a great day.
