The Storm

The Storm As I sit on my back porch drinking a fresh cup of coffee, the sunshine I’ve been enjoying begins to give way to dark clouds slowly rolling in. A storm is surely brewing, as the distant sound of thunder echoes over the hills. Dark skies prevail, diminishing light across the land, only pausing for a moment for the occasional lightning flash. As I sit, taking in the beautiful wonders of nature, the sound of thunder begins to rumble ever closer. I then catch the pleasing smell of rain in the air. Soon, magnificent sheets of warm rain begin to fall upon the ground. A breathtaking symphony of sound coming from the tin roof on my porch. As brilliant flashes of lightning streak across the sky. As giving life to the land, the storm rages on. I begin taking in all the wonders of this world, which makes my very existence seem small in the greater design of things. The perfect plan is in place for all to perceive. V.M. Tackett
