Across the brook, the bridge lay broken stops the traveler’s momentum he can't wade into the water and wet his clothes and shoes he had to find the stones to step on and go across they were mossy he saw he can slip and fall a twig can do the trick scoop out the moss he opened and held his shoes and placed a foot on the stone the slippery stones of life lay ahead to reach a goal
