The Stage

Today I awaken again to take this very stage, Resign from yesterday and turn not a chapter but a page, I put on this costume approved by the mirror, With which to act amongst others that I am without fear, But fear not the decision but the choices today, For when the vast curtains open what will I say, This agony made worth while by not forgetting, That Loves a light switch that brightens a setting, So pose now your purpose with this prompt smile, Let not the apposing props twist your simple style, Face every self-important challenge and fail I might, But fail to prevail so not to get stage freight, Wear your strength close like a January mitten, And proceed with caution for the script is unwritten, Remember the small details underrated by many so much, Like how tears love the broom side of a fingers touch, These scenes within time wont go without sorrow, Yet time sets the stage again for all of lifes tomorrow, Still every routine has a beginning and an end, So as I close these tired eyes the curtains will descend.
