Author's Notes: "The Soul's Path," is another one of my unique ethereal writes. I had some significant discussions with my wife, Ingrid, on this particular poem since this is a definite topic of mutual interest to both of us. It's message is clear and sure -- and says what it means and means what it says. I wrote this piece free from any specific religious dogma or bias. Enjoy the thoughts!! The Soul’s Path The soul’s path is one . . . whose way is oft clouded and confounded by a myriad of challenges and rank superficiality which pervade the very nature of mankind’s mortal coil. This means . . . each of us should seek a higher ethereal understanding of life, and be not afraid to meet and embrace our fate and destiny head-on with courage and faith in God’s holy guidance and His most divine grace. The soul’s path . . . is an individual endeavor, but one worth taking so each of us can find our final way back to God. Very thought provoking lines dear friend. You have captured the beauty of soul, where lives our torch bearer the God in our own heart and soul. We often search Him here and there and everywhere, without caring to look in our own soul. Great lines and thank you once again for kind and precious comments on my Poem Nothing to Call Me...Love and best wishes always...Ravindra K Kapoor

Hello Ravindra, Thanks for your wonderful comments here. You've actually captured much of the essence of what I was thematically alluding to with my write. Our soul is very much our personal link to God. It is an individual endeavor for sure in helping each of us find our way back to God. Cheers and Best, Gary

Thanks so much Sharon again for your read here, and for the 7/FAV!! I'm very pleased that you liked this particular metaphysical write and that it coincided with your thoughts today. (I'm still working away with prose writes for Book Two planned for Summer 2017). But I am still posting poetry too as I can get it produced. Everything of great interest and quality, as you know, takes time. I will drop by to check out your latest poetry. Best Always Too My Pen Friend!! Gary

Beautifully done, Gary! Ditto for Ralph Sergi's comment. Loving what he'd written, "Souls are a mystery but Faith is a reality!". You truly could give "Aesop's Fables" a more honest and accurate restoration. Best wishes, Mikki

Hello Mikki, Thanks for your gracious comments here. I agree that Ralph's comment concerning Souls and Faith is spot-on. The concept of the "human soul" beyond all religious doctrine does indeed pose a profound metaphysical question for mankind to contemplate. Much to think about for sure!! Have a great weekend!! Best, Gary

Very inspiring poem, Gary. We've come a long way from prehistoric man and the the Inquisitions. I know that Souls are a mystery but Faith is a reality!

Thanks Scott!! I do understand and fully appreciate you viewpoint. I really try to focus any of the metaphysical/ethereal writes that I do at the everyday human-level with elements of courage, inspiration, hope, and deep-seated introspection. I also do my best to stay away from any specific religious dogma per se. (I always highlight this in my Author's Notes.) My principal purpose is always to encourage readers to reflect and think on the salient aspects of the theme I'm covering. At least I hope my writes are received as such!! Best Always, Gary

Thanks Much Jan!! (Just to let you know, I'm really not a "Holy-Roller-Type" or anything else extreme like that, however, my religious-ethereal connection to writes of this nature is more poetic and metaphysical which makes me more of a "secularist.") I originally grew up in Kansas in the USA, and I can assure you there are plenty literalists and true-believers from that part of the country who like to judge others by their supposed "Christian Credentials." That's not my cup of tea. And that's why I live in Europe now and not in Holy-Roller-Land. Thanks for your read!! Best Always, Gary

That path is there for anyone to follow, although some find it best to turn a blind eye and walk by pretending it does not exist, because momentarily it might appear to make life easier! Your words are uplifting, Gary! Full marks to you. ~ Best regards // paul

Thanks Paul very much!! And congratulations again on your recent most wonderful poem on the "Poet Who Never Was." As I explained to Jan (note above), my belief and connection to the ethereal world is metaphysical and poetic. My general all-encompassing belief in God does date back to my original Methodist roots when I was growing up in the mid-west in Kansas in the USA. But I'm finding as I approach my soon 65th birthday, my whole vision and expanse of the "God-Thing" is indeed my universal in nature and not tightly wrapped in any strict religious dogma. (I do enjoy contemplating aspects of the Greater Beyond for sure. We will all walk that path for sure one day!!) All The Best!! Gary

Hello Dear Laura!! I hope all is going well for you and your current university studies. Yup, in the end, our individual soul path back to God, I believe, is truly a "solo adventure." We all are destined to eventually move in this direction regardless. Best Always, Gary

Hello Alexis!! Thanks for your read and very supportive comments. This poem had a deep influence from my wife Ingrid. I do tend to be multi-thematic in how I approach poetry and prose in general, but I do find the ethereal and metaphysical themes to be of a particular interest. Cheers and Best, Gary

Hello Sharon, Thanks so much for your read here and your meaningful and supportive comments. The ethereal themes of late have had more and more of place in writing, both in poetry and prosed. I suppose I should credit my wife, Ingrid, with that since this is a thematic area of great interest and intensity for her. I hope all is well with you. I'll be in touch. Best Always!! Gary

Hello "D" . . . Thanks very much for your wonderful observations and comments, and for the TR/FAV. This one, although a more simply constructed poem, has some very powerful words regarding the "Soul's Path." This is a particular theme that's quite important for Ingrid. We're both glad you liked it!! Spill Ink -- of course!! Cheers and Best, Gary

- Life's choices are a number of challenges - Especially in daily news - Fear grows, people kill "in the name of God" .... what happens to us humans .. - Dare we trust the fate - A wonderful thought provoking poem, dear Gary - Best wishes to you and Ingrid - hugs // Anne-Lise :)

Thanks Dear Anne-Lise!! I do believe that our fate and destiny are intertwined with our human experience and our soul path. It's been my experience and observation that many people among us sometimes fear turning inward to learn more about their real selves vice their outward looking superficial selves. Unfortunately, there will always be crazy people who "kill in the name of God." All religions historically, at one time or another, have been guilty of this. We do for sure live in challenging times. Continued best wishes from Ingrid and me.
