The Soulful Whisper of Love's Promise

The soulful whisper of love's promise
Hangs in my heart
As if,
It were the air I needed to breathe
And the water I needed to sustain myself!

It hangs in there, in the tiny broken pieces
Of my bloody heart,
Bloodied by my pain, my tears, my agony
As would never be understood by any mortal
Who bears no witness to the origin of my cause!

Pray, love, when whispered it has been
By the skies,
Is of consequent importance to the cosmos
But,
When rebuked it is,
It hurts even the makers of creation
Who can only watch in silence
As compelled parents do
When their offspring choose to rebel against them!

Of this soulful whisper, though, have I made my aim
On it do I cry myself to sleep, on it do I smile
To this pretentious world,
Hoping that the will of the Gods does get fulfilled!
