The Soul

Herod had John the Baptist beheaded
But Herod did not know
Neither did Herodias his wife
He could not behead a man’s soul

Pilate washed his hands of Jesus
He had Jesus beaten then crucified
Pilate did not know
He could not crucify a man’s soul

The Leaders of Israel had His tomb’s entrance guarded with an immovable stone and soldiers but they did not know
That Jesus’ soul could not be held captive

I've really been enjoying your poem and the emotions and imagery were so vivid that i could easily picture them as beautiful illustration. Really cool Frank how you show that no matter what they did, the soul stays untouchable. As a Christian minister, I loved that strong, soulful vibe running through the Biblical moments.
