A mind-stirring piece that is so apt for today. Survival of the fittest comes to my mind. Your words are powerful, my friend and take care.

Russian roulette is a very interesting allegory for many things we're dealing with today. We live in exciting times. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to experience your poem as it is a form of transportation to a thoughtful realm.

Hello Paul. Good Morning. I found this very powerful. Your repetitive line of "the song played in his head" was extremely powerful effective and appropriately utilized and executed. Thank you for sharing your skilled talent. Have a wonderful morning. Happy Thanksgiving. Blessings and Peace always. (smile) PS: Excellent title by the way to which you never strayed...

A very dramatic piece Paul playing such a dangerous game of Russian roulette with a loaded gun. I guess he ran out of luck. A very thoughtful piece as well with a profound title and the song being repeated as the scene played out. Sad too but great writing and leaves an impact. Thank you for sharing.

a profound and engaging read, Paul. "You're in charge of your own weapon," repeated in my mind. Your poem intrigued me...and I'm still thinking the guy didn't die...wasn't his destiny yet?

Sadly, when you play Russian roulette, the final outcome is inevitable.
