The Soft Song of Summer Breeze

Melodic tunes resound with night When stars begin flamed hours’ delight … There is a lilt circling the air As east winds rustle to prepare, Nocturnal valleys gently calm Releasing their ambrosial balm: We listen how jays croon again From verdant shrubs along the lane And love notes echo with graced ease The soft song of the summer breeze… Where fireflies red invite a dream Till kisses drift, weaving midstream. 9/4/2018 ------------------------- One In Five II Contest of Joseph May Phrase No. 5

I went outside to read your work a second time. The sun was setting low. There was no humidity in the air. Indeed it was a perfect night. And there, in my swing chair, I felt you in the coastal breeze! Your poetry transcends, Nette!

Wonderful poem, love this stanza: "Where fireflies red invite a dream Till kisses glide, weaving midstream Breathless this season’s ardent thrill".
