The Sky Turns Dark

Foreboding storm clouds sail in fast
Gale force winds touch shore
Lighting strikes the choppy waves
Rain begins to pour
The sky turns dark and menacing
Palm trees sway and bend
The howling wind is deafening
We pray this storm will end

Oh I do miss palm trees, Anne... going down near zero next week here in Minnesota, the only positive from a crackin' thunderstorm is the rush of negative-ions one breathes in, oxygenating your blood, producing a sense of well-being! Fun poem!

This was so well written. I am always glad when those kind of storms pass. You caught the feel of the storm so perfectly.

Anne, your imagery in words creates a canvas of 'vision'...I enjoy your work, I have read several pieces and think they are excellent. I hope you will visit my page, as I enjoy the art of imagery. Take Care, Paulette

I love poetry, but I fear it does not love me. Your poems are truly wonderful, you have a real gift. To me your poems are full of emotion, they are really descriptive and insightful, and I will reread them as well as any more that you write. Your writings are so moving, they evoked emotions in me, made me think about other people in this world who are also full of worry, stress and dealing with the troubles that each day brings about. Sincerely C. Holloway.

Thank you Carolyn for your kind and thoughtful feedback. It makes my heart glad to know my poems resonate with some people. The beauty is we are all unique and have different opinions of things that either appeal to us or not. And that is fine as it makes the world an interesting place. Cheers Anne :-)

I hope the hurricane didn't reach you! That must be so frightening. Too much rain, not enough rain...it's just crazy weather.

Picture-perfect capture, Anne, of scenes we've seen too often. Just had one in Chicago tonight, though without palm trees, admittedly. ~ Here's to the week ahead. :) Gershon
