"For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end - it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay." *** “It's not that you should never love something so much that it can control you. It's that you need to love something that much so you can never be controlled. It's not a weakness. It's your best strength.” *** Control *** Freedom

most allow themselves to be slaves to many things, being able to recognize it when it happens and having the strength of will to unchain yourself is another matter, many cannot...looking back is one thing, living there is another, born in a world, not of one's choice, then to spend a lifetime in search of chosen things still ends in a dark silence where most are forgotten and yet knowing this my mind still searches for the unknown, like Lot's wife when told to not look back, still does

everyone does don't they? This is how we process our now and what we must venture forward into, to be free of it all.

ah dreams soft pillows lots lost pillars of salt I mean, seriously? I hope you do know that you are a very good poet and I think you will only get better and better. I am somewhat a prisoner of my own mental constraints--able to produce poetry only when DEEPLY affected by something. But you, you produce magic at every turn. I am wholly impressed and never sell yourself short.

I entertained the idea of entering your competition...lol.. nah. I don't do competitions. But good topic to choose - should garner quite a few contestants. I may still write a poem around the theme. I look forward to reading what creations are entered. I write what I feel, I write about things I know, I write about esoteric subjects that I find fascinating. Like Lot's Wife, Genesis (you know, from that book), for eg, it would be a temptation for most to look backwards. I like to write - that is my main addiction. Which incurs "thinking" and sometimes "imagination". I do write best, when I am deeply affected by something, or someone, eg my daughter. :) Thank you for the compliment.

The 6th Christmas. LOVE, as always, from the Sures of Purgatory. ;). And I'm not even a Mick - I'm terribly un-pc and my bolshie stance, is irretrievably fixed in some other realm. Yours truly, the irreverent revenant. x

"an intermediate state after death for expiatory purification specifically : a place or state of punishment wherein according to Roman Catholic doctrine the souls of those who die in God's "good grace may make satisfaction for past sins and so become fit for heaven." ;)
