The sky and me

Serene silvery shore~
stones warm from the day’s last sun,
driftwood curled like forgotten letters,
and the tide returning, slow and certain.

Above, the aurora unfolds
like someone remembering
a soft love story
told only in pastel colors.

Oh, northern lights~ hurry not!
stretch more and scatter,
wrap me in the silent night
before you vanish
as if you weren't there.

So, I stand still,
salt on my skin,
watching the sky dissolve into the sea.

You've not only painted the scene, but the entire mood of what you're witnessing as it unfolds. Pastels... that's how I'd paint it. I've often written of the sun as it seems to drown in the sea... your lines are mesmerizing, J.

Wow!! This left me speechless with its poetic beauty and exquisite descriptions throughout! Absolutely breathtaking as each line unfolded and whispered a magical hue of imagery — of the sky dissolving into the sea! And those dancing auroras as well! I really love how you've used symbolism and metaphor here so well, whilst maintaining an enchanting flow of words! Those opening lines are so ingenious and creatively done! Loved reading this! Sending light and best wishes ~
