The Sky

THE SKY Oh! Sky the lonely heart Dwelling upon my untiring soul Lost with an unspoken word. Fountain of misery teaches him That defiant endurance… Oh! Sky the lonely soul The creatures fly and obey But the hollowness prevails. The Sun burns him with anguish Yet he weeps with pride. Oh! Sky my undeniable hero You made me the undefeated queen, But I remained lost in my thoughts of isolation! Now I wish to merge in you Come my hero …my sky!

Your hero is divine Red, I love the merging of your soul. Laying to rest in the peaceful sky. Your quest is sentimental. I love and feel sad, that I never came to visit your first poem. Forgive me my friend. I'm glad I stopped by to read your first post... Love Linda

Hi Smriti:) This is one truly lovely poem which verges on the romantic...an abstract relationship built on yearning for mutual understanding and giving. #7

Very good. The sky can have so many effects. Right now, it's been storming so the sky is very brutal. I enjoyed this poem as well. R.M.

Very nice work, Smriti. I love the sky -- it makes me feel part of the universe. For me, it actually alleviates the loneliness. Staying inside alone is the worst place to be. Welcome to poetry soup! Best wishes, Carolyn

Don't we all wish to travel these horizons, these skies that teach us so much through life, hope for a sunny day we look up to the sky, when raining we look up to question why? Great write!

The sky is a wonderful method of detachment. Your idea of "merging" with the sky is great! I like your thinking. Keep writing. Love, daver
