The Siren Sergeant -

One day while marching
on the road to madness
I fell in love with a woman
known as sadness,

she rode up on the shore
glazed in sapphire honey,
knowing no mercy
slapping the land,
forgiveness in her thought,
studed destruction in her hand,

our wit and sheilds calashing,
the battle a draw - together -
we as one collapsing to the sand,
we engaged in hot behavior
but the game was always in her favor -

Wouldn't we all love to be sirens, to be that irresisible force that conquers the odds, and have men grovelling at our feet. Ah well, I'm not realistic too often but my nether world has its purpose. Thanks for the dream Justin, a wonderful start for the new year.

Saluts to the "Siren Sergeant", Justin?:) Sounds like she keeps you on your toes and keeps your pen dancing. This is poetry you write of? Hope you''ve had a grand weekend! Love, Mikki

This piece is like a hovel in my poetic architectual repertoire but it has much import in regards to my youth - sometimes hovels & huts provide much comfort - I am pleased that you like the spice of it Jonas - J.A.B. %

I have never been unlucky Drake, but sometimes I've been too ignorant to realize how lucky I've been - I haven't lost the game, its just in her favor my friend - the imagery and skill in this piece are simple but also rich in ways, I appreciate your compliment - J.A.B. %

I certainly will revisit Sara - sadness & depression are actually very efficient paths to enlightenment for those disinclined to wallow in those profitable states of mind - J.A.B. %

One tends to follow the other, and unfortunatley, sadness typically has the longer life span because passion makes such an intense and ephemeral appearence in our lives Sandra - J.A.B. %

I like that. Sadness as a hot merciless woman! you are so right, many times it all ends in sadness. I really enjoyed this one from you. Your title is cool too! (I enjoyed your term for my last poem as using "misdirection.")

As you well know Andrea poetry is a science along with being a divine art - mischevious women are always hot, and Sirens are the epitome - J.A.B. %

No Yasmin, I am happy because I trust in my myself - this poem and Premenstrual Syndrome are experimental pieces in rapid free association writing for me - I think they have value - Calashing is not a word, its actually onomatopoeia - J.A.B. %
