The Silver Plate
A mother pays a dinner visit to her son.
He was living with a female roommate.
Mom spotted anything over supper.
Her son's roommate was a stunning lover.
She was always wary of companions.
She asked her son about Shanon.
I'm aware of what you're thinking, he said.
But we're just housemates and pals.
Then, the girl stated to lose a silver plate.
But I don't believe your mother would do.
"I doubt it, but I'll email her to check," he said.
Mum"I don't think you took the silver plate".
But we couldn't find it since your last visit
A few days later, he heard from his mother.
I don't think you slept with her, son.
But only if she slept in her own bed.
She should've discovered it by now.
The plate beneath her pillow for a week.
