The Silver Lining
When life, for us, seems full of doubt and fear
A wondrous Silver Lining may appear
To shine a light, a light so bright, so clear
And wipe away each sigh and bitter tear.
When hopes are dashed
And all our dreams seem out of reach
When we despair of ever reaching that far goal
Then think, dear friend, about the prize that’s there for all
It may whisper softly in your ear
The promise of a new frontier
It may show us all that hope can reappear
And make those doubts and worries disappear
That silver lining in the darkened sky
Beyond the distant mountains high
May offer us a second chance to try
And win the prize that each of us holds dear
It is a sign of better things to come,
A promise that we are far from done
That we yet may rise and overcome
And celebrate those treasures to be won
That silver lining is a beacon to us all
It guides us, helping each avoid the fall
It gives us strength, it gives us all a reason
To keep moving forward through each season
It reminds us all of trials we’ve been through
Of battles won, of dragons that we slew
Shows us the love of many friends, not just a few
That helps us all stand tall, no matter what we do.
That silver lining is our saving grace
Delivering us from many a desperate place
It shows us that, no matter how cruel life can be,
There is redemption there for you and me
So let us keep on striving to do what must be done
Though life may hold hard challenges for all
Remember - we can do it, yes, each and every one
For that silver lining keeps us from the fall!
