Notes About The Poem

Written for the choose a line contest sponsored by Joseph May

The Silence Fades with a Soft Embrace

"The silence fades with a soft embrace"
but strokes my soul like butterfly dreams,
whilst words unsaid lace the amethyst air
with strings of silver and citrine ~
clutching metaphors to the moon’s nectarine,
like a love rhyme written in tears never seen.

Tonight, in the hushed heat of starlight,
I trace your initials with ink and sighs,
craving to be heard amidst the white noise,
where the blackbird sings but is a feeler ~
of me, the breathless leaves of palm trees,
and crashing sparks drenched in sea salt.

O paused pulse of midnight,
meet me where time forgets tomorrow.
Listen to these voiceless verses:
I am neither the curator nor the canvas ~
yet like the gossamer gates within your heart,
I ache to be wrapped, forever, by Cupid’s violet flame…

Dear Ink, there is something beautiful in your concise format - a little distillation of text has concentrated the emotion of you poem! It is substantial in it's potency benefitting from your choice of brevity. "meet me where time forgets tomorrow" is haunting. This is one of your most emotively captivating pieces of prose for me. Of course a fav. Such blessing my friend, S:) xx

Oh my, this poem really made my heart skip some beats!! What a poetic treasure and it makes one to go awestruck and admire your ethereal art of weaving emotions into the tapestry of words, ever so enchantingly!! This feels like a cosmic delight for me ~ from the beginning till the end, there are just too many favs that I want to quote "words unsaid lace the amethyst air with strings of silver and citrine" Woww the use of gemstones there is so clever and artistic! "where the blackbird sings but is a feeler ~ of me" that is beyond soulful, those three lines in the second stanza really have my heart.. and that whole last stanza my goodness! I'm speechless! It just feels like you've been connected with your spiritual self while writing this one, so effortless and beautiful dear ink ~ you literally nailed it... "meet me where time forgets tomorrow" breathtaking! "I am neither the curator nor the canvas ~

Another outstanding poem on love, desire, and the hidden emotions that go with them, dear Ink. Rich images and metaphors that evoke beauty and sorrow depict the deep relationship between two souls. The poetry emphasizes communication and unsaid feelings as it seeks deeper understanding and connection. The poem's vibrant language uses sensory images and metaphors. A vibrant and personal environment is created by phrases like "soft embrace," "butterfly dreams," and "nectarine". Precious stones like "amethyst," "silver," and "citrine" indicate beauty and worth, emphasizing valued feelings. Best wishes and hugs

"craving to be heard amidst the white noise." Yes, it's both natural and normal that we wish to be heard, to be appreciated, even loved. Awful lotta white noise out there though. Our voice must be firm and strong. Yours certainly is inky. I know there's more to the poem but that line resonated
