The Shore of Evermore

Oh! To hear again the ocean roar
There so high upon the cliffs
Along the shore of Evermore

Oh! To breathe again that salty air
And feel the power of that misty wind
Run through my hair

Oh! To stand there on the ledge
And watch the seagulls fly
And touch those cotton clouds and
Blue of periwinkle sky

Oh! To dream of days gone by
To see you one more time
Before I die

Reading this poem again, reminds me of Legolas, after he had seen the sea and his heart was lost

Love the rhyme and formatting of this poem, very dreamy feel, well done piece! And thank you for your comments on poem "Ticking On". I was in a place where I found I was never going to have children of my own, and I felt old and used and out of things to dream, even though I wasn't...but thank you...Sincerely, Trudy

Hello Elaine... one of my favorite places in all the world is Cornwall England and its coast line of Cliffs, wild a rugged, a place I shall probably never return to.... this poem struck a real chord in me. Thank you so much for your comment.
