The Shine
The shine of life has lost its sparkle
The shine that once was there is now gone
No matter how hard you try to find it
Dullness lingers on and on and on
The days when life was so easy
The days when love was so strong
The shine gleamed on every surface
The shine of good times that went on and on
Though weary, cracked and broken
Though tough times go on and on and on
We sometimes find our shine together
Just like the days when we were always in the sun
Life can be cruel and unrelenting
Life can be tough and sometimes wrong
This time that we live in may not have much sparkle
But when I look in your eyes I see sunshine
That's where the beauty of my life shines on and on and on
