The Sense of Fulfillment
As in winter the old year gets lost to me it’s clear
In the spent old life what I could wish for as new
I’ll be looking forward to in the coming New Year
Or what I’ll like to change for me and for you.
Maybe I’ll get up in the sunny morning a bit early
Go for a leisurely stroll on the serene sea shore
See the golden sun rise in scarlet sky in majesty
Perceive the colors of youth I haven’t seen before.
Maybe I’ll walk beguiled in the blooming garden
I haven’t gone awhile although it’s just next door
See how in twilight gleam the new leaves glisten
Observe the patina of youth I haven’t seen before.
Maybe in the winsome woods I’ll wander in delight
When I did this the last time I don’t know for sure
See the full moon spread blue tinsels in dark night
Feel the touch of youth I haven’t felt before.
Maybe I’ll sit by the open window at sunset
In autumn days to see the trees gilded galore
Read the poems of love of an unknown poet
Feel the passion of youth I haven’t felt before.
Maybe I’ll hold your hands and look in the eyes
For they seem to drift away not near anymore
See from their dim depth new glitter of joy rise
Feel the sense of fulfillment I haven’t felt before.
