The Secret

everyone has a secret
some are silly, some profound
but to each of us,
seems by silence, we are bound
horrors from a childhood,
misdeeds upon this earth,
no one is exempt
from this this pain from birth,
maybe, as simple as a word,
you wish you had not said,
maybe a violent outburst
that made you full of dread,
you are but merely human,
no angel can you be,
and the sooner that you realize that,
the sooner you won't be me.
