The Same Sky

I sit alone on a dark, lonely night
As tranquil moments gently enfold me
Gazing at stars sprinkling the sky so bright
As my dreams float upwards and become free

Wishes on angel’s wings so lovingly kept
As my love and I live in worlds apart
Twinkling stardust on my desires not met
So much hollowness and pain in my heart

I yearn for the radiance of your smile
As you caress me with your soothing touch
Pray take my hand for a heavenly while
Fleeting moments that I capture to clutch

Deep valleys within flood with much sorrow
Swept along with past memories my love
A prayer cast for a bright tomorrow
As I wish and look to the stars above

Up, up into the blackness of the night
As if by the heavens a message sent
Crystal cut stars shooting and sprinkling light
A sanguine thought floats down on descent

If tonight you feel me dreaming nearby
We rejoin once more sharing the same sky

Dear Andrea, fellow Virgo friend :) (Sept 12) I cannot thank you enough for making my day when reading these wonderful, generous and uplifting comments from you. An extra big thank you most gratefully for faving it. I’m so delighted and equally honoured. Thank you! That’s wonderful encouragement. I’m still studying your poem to grasp the rhyme scheme and for inspiration. I think, at times, we do have the same style (Virgo minds!) but you are a superior poet and I’m enjoying learning from you.

Sharing the same sky, choosing a time when we may be under the same stars or moon for a fleeting moment. Feeling the vibration of love as it wafts along the star-studded universe. Then going back inside not wanting to leave that evening sky, feeling unrequited. Again you replanted familiar feelings. Thank you my friend.......

Such a beautiful love poem, Christina. Heartfelt and sincere, your love shined through. The rhyming was eloquent and the imagery a joy to read. A FAV for my list. I had to go back a ways to find one I hadn't commented on, it was worth it, when I discovered this one, my friend. Smiles ~ Blessings Bill

Passionately romantic, this is a beautiful poem of pain and longing. It is natural for one to crave for the presence of the loved one, when they stay hundreds of miles apart ! To peer into the night sky and dream beautiful dreams is a lover's privilege.

An absolutely fantastic new creation my good friend. Human relationships are indeed very complex things. But if one loves another person it seem so simple to hold that like a delicate rose and give truly of ones-self.. A fav.. God bless you.

Long distance relationships are hard but we can take solace in the night sky knowing our love is looking at the same stars as they twinkle their stardust on our desires. This is such a beautiful thought, Christina, I enjoyed the read. John

they say light is the fasted thing in the universe, I believe it is a dreamer's dream of loving thoughts that cross the universe faster

The sky at night is a dreamer’s delight, though it’s sad when lovers are kept apart, yet sharing the same sky must bring some peace to both hearts… Belle
