The Sailor
a sigh
that could fill the room
with its tears
"Sometimes I want to be alone
so alone and far away"
as he speaks
I can hear him drifting
on some raft he's built
the movement of it causing a ripple
in it's melancholy path
I wish then that I were a lighthouse
beaming
to guide him back to me
let him rest safely in my harbor
but he is an anxious sailor
and I must wait
until his compass is pointing in my direction
before he comes back home
