The Rose Horse

The Rose Horse

                                   Leaping Tiger – Flying Lion
                                 Dressed with gold and diamond
                                                Saddles;
                                             Topaz Horse
                                                 And
                                           Emerald Dragon
                                            Following close
                                          The Silver Stallion;
                                     Amber Tabby and Onyx Kitten
                                      See with lightning eyes of
                                                    Coral
                           The Bronzed Gazelle – The Cinnabar Steed –
                                    Held with bridled strings of
                                                 Pearls;
                                       Gentle Serengeti Giant
                                       Reined with Alabaster
                                                 Light,
                                 Opal Ostrich, caught in leaping,
                                   A Unicorn of Sapphire essence;
                                           Lapis Rose Horse
                                            Rides in sunshine
                                               Bowing down
                                              Inviting beckons
                                         Ride on Crystal wings of
                                                 Childhood,
                                                  In a circle
                                             Formed by music,
                                             Round and round,
                                           Led by the knighted
                                            Sterling Stallion.

This is one of my very favorite poems. So many people don't get that this is about a carousel! Nothing gets by your perceptive eye, my friend! There is a vintage carousel close to us. Vintage carousels always have a lead horse. The Silver Stallion is the lead horse on this carousel! Carousels are just magic! Sending you warm Thanksgiving blessings!

The lead horse on my favorite carousel is a "silver stallion." Thank you for your congrats. Carousels just seem to lend themselves to imagery.
