Let the waves carry me away To a dream of you walking through a field Until I get there wait for me And together we will yield Harvests of pretty flowers Fragrant, big bouquets Scented springtime nosegays In my hands I wield A solitary rose That didn't come from here It rested on my music stand I put it there last year It dried and lost some color Its perfume is no more But beautiful yet still it is I kept it in my drawer Until today, I took it out And now does reappear A token of affection From me to you my dear
