the rose loses petals as summer slowly fades casting autumn's gloomy shadow with whispers of tomorrow's falling leaves, and summer's golden memories will linger for awhile, then they fade, like the rose.. --

Wow! This is pretty cool--with a slow, subtle build-up like an extended haiku--me like! Oh, and congrats on your win,Joseph, in Brian's contest.

Lovely imagery Joseph, as summer ends the roses wilt and lose the petals, an image I've seen many time in our garden. Tom

A delightful Rictameter, Joseph. Unfortunately, even the best of memories tend to lose their sheen as time goes by! Regards // paul

Petals in bright array, may fall and then fade away- however, the beauty of leaves- as they linger in a colorful display. Simply breathtaking indeed. I love everything about this. A keeper for me. ~ Brandy
