The Road to Nevermore

The hourglass betrayed The youth that once was mine My brittle bones decayed Through the ravages of time A cruel and cold embrace Is what I have in store A traveler to face The road to nevermore No mercy once begun This weary winter's frost Those days spent in the sun Are now forever lost

Alas, the cold, cruel passage of time, only made bearable by the poet's rhyme. Huzzah, Randy! ~ Gershon

The lament of an atheist, I fear. Hope is what separates us from the beast. We have an inherent desire for eternity. That is no accident, my friend, since we are made in the image of an eternal God

Gosh, Randy, sensitive much? I didn't misinterpret your poem at all. I understood it was about impending death, with the bleak outlook of that being the final end. As far as the Bible's hope of a resurrection, I'm happy to share it with appreciative hearts. As far as critique, I see none in my comment. However, if you'd rather I stay away and allow to continue to post in relative obscurity let me know. I actually like your writing

I believe you misinterpreted my poem Tom. It has nothing to do with religion, but the inevitable decline of youth and impending death. I would never slap anyone with my religious views while critiquing their poetry. I'm sorry you felt the need to do so.
