The Road I Travelled - Time Traveller
If I could revolve back the sands of time,
Journey to the days of my youthful shine,
Be offered chance to change one thing in life,
To change the road, I travelled, I would strive.
I would not chase the goal to reach hill tops,
On rocky grounds, try to build bogus hopes,
Trudge through thick thorns, shrubs and serpentine lanes,
But embrace the beauty of lowly plains.
I won`t crave for hill tops in cities grand,
Leave emptiness in the tide of my hand,
But rather stay here where my roots are deep
And sincere friendships bloom while some sleep.
Peaks are oft targets of envious eyes,
Who to oust one from there can all means try,
Without tinge of guilt stab one on the back
And all seams of sincerity they lack.
Plans are the grounds that feed the human race,
The favoured shrine of nature across space,
Where sprouts the shoots of sincere happiness,
Where one is oft greeted with friendliness.
Far from the crazy crowd of the city,
I would long with honest humility
Mother nature to serve all earnestly
And link up with the soil all sincerely.
As in past, I wouldn't rush through precious days,
Lost in a frantic, hasty hurried haze,
But silently savour them, hold them dear,
And dispel the darkness of doubt and fear.
I won`t pursue beaten tracts as in past,
But strive to break new grounds, till my breath lasts,
Though service to nature to know myself
And attain the depth of my inner self.
