The River of Peace

Underneath the tumult
  and toil of our
urban lives
    Flows a river of peace
   Every Friday night
we bathe in its waters
   Eyes gazing upward
Find solace in the ineffable
The power that preserves
echoes through our lives
As we chant Kaddish and Adon Olam
We are transported to a realm
Where faith becomes knowledge
   Knowledge becomes joy
We are but a small
part of eternity
But having made our decision at Sinai
We released the floodwaters
  of the river of peace
and confirm the covenant
every Friday night

Matthew, This is an awesome poem. The lines, "We are transported to a realm Where faith becomes knowledge Knowledge becomes joy" - these lines are brilliant, really good. Well done, my friend. Congrats on making Debbie's winners' list................S.Ronthorpe - "Sam I Am"
